Today, the US Patent and Trademark Office granted Samsung a whopping 34 design patents. Our report only covers those designs which stood out from the pack which include a new smartphone, tablet, speakers and more.
It should be noted that unlike "patent applications," design patents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office don't reveal pertinent information about a particular design. We can look at the design and appreciate it for what it projects, but we'll never discover which materials may be used to construct the design. We'll never know what unique internal components may be hidden within the device or learn about any unique features that we could look forward to. All we get is the simple visual of what could be coming down the pipeline.
A new round of interesting design patents that were granted to Samsung today includes a new smartphone, 3 new speaker designs, a new tablet backside design with a baffle to better handle heat build-up and a smartphone User Interface design.
While most of the newly granted designs are interesting, it's the tube speaker that struck my interest most. If you have a favorite, send in your comments below.
